Mark up PDFs

The only way I can make the crop tool greyed out is by taking the original image flles offline or by not selecting any image at all:
Are you sure, that you had the image selected and it is online, when you tried to crop? 'Print' is not greyed out for offline originals, but it will not actually let you print 😉
But if your image is online, and you have selected it, and you still cannot crop, your User preferences may be corrupted; then try to quit Aperture, log off and on again (to ensure Aperture really quits), and move the User Preferences (~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Aperture.plist) from the user library to the Desktop - see the Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basicson how to do this.
